History Of FINA Water Polo World Cup

The FINA Men's Water Polo World Cup is an international water polo tournament, organized by FINA and featuring eight (8) men's national teams.It was established in 1979, and is currently held every four years, in the even-year between Olympics

The FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup is an international water polo competition contested by women's national water polo teams of the members of FINA, the aquatic sports' global governing body. The tournament was established in 1979 with an erratic schedule, but it has been contested every four years since 2002.

Netherlands women's national water polo team-1980,1983,1988,1989,1991,1993,1997,1999:

The Netherlands women's national water polo team is the national team of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It was one of the leading teams in the world during the 1980s and 1990s. More recently they claimed the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The team is governed by the Koninklijke Nederlandse Zwembond (KNZB).


United States women's national water polo team-1979,2010,2014:

The Hungary women's national water polo team represents Hungary in international women's water polo competitions and friendly matches. The team is one of the leading teams in Europe since the early 1990s, claiming the world title at the 1994 World Aquatics Championships in Rome, Italy.

The Australian national women's water polo team represents Australia in women's international water polo competitions and is controlled by Australian Water Polo Incorporated. It is currently organised into the Asia/Oceania regional group.

The Serbia men's national water polo team represents Serbia in international water polo competitions and is controlled by the Water Polo Association of Serbia. They are considered to be one of the world's best team in the history of water polo, having won 11 Olympic, 10 World Championship, 20 European Championship, 10 FINA World League, 9 FINA World Cup, and 11 Mediterranean Games medals.

They are the best of all national sports teams of Serbia, having won more titles than any other team in Serbia's history.

They are considered the world's top power in the history of water polo, having won 15 Olympic, 10 World Championship, 5 FINA World League, 8 FINA World Cup and 21 European Championship medals.


United States men's national water polo team-1991,1997:

he United States men's national water polo team is the representative for the United States of America in international men's water polo.

The team competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where they won silver medal in the final, losing to Hungary 14–10.


Italy men's national water polo team-1993:

The Italian national water polo team represents Italy in men's international water polo competitions and is controlled by Federnuoto (the Italian Aquatics Federation). The national men's team has the nickname of "Settebello".

The Italian men's water polo team has won 6 Olympic medals, 5 World Championships, 5 World Cup, 10 European Championships medals, and one World League medal, making them one of the most successful men's water polo teams in the world. They have won a combined six championships in those four competitions, with the World League being the only competition which Italy has yet to win.

Yugoslavia men's national water polo team was the national water polo team that represented the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (1920–1929), the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1929–1941), the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia (1946–1963), the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1963–1992), and after the split of SFR Yugoslavia, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1994–2002), before it changed its name to Serbia and Montenegro.
