Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University, Vadodara was established in 1981 as K.M.Shah Charitable Trust. The Trust initially engaged in providing Dental Healthcare services. The trust became K.M.Shah Dental College & Hospital in the year 1999. In the year 2006, Sumandeep Nursing College was established. It was later culminated to Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University in the year 2007. Sumandeep Vidyapeeth has the distinction of being the only Deemed University of the State of Gujarat under de novo category. Sumandeep has acquired this status on the Strength of introduction of path breaking healthcare education and training delivery system namely Evidence Based Education System.Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University aims to be a world class center of excellence in learning and innovation driven by social sensitivity and state-of-the-art technology. In near future it will be amongst the top rated Educational Institutes nationally and internationally, offering contemporary education, high quality research, training and consultancy services to suit the ever changing needs of Global society and to provide high quality health care services to the society.

To become an accomplished centre of unique evidence based medical education system in the country with a capacity and capability to share ideas and train other medical institutes in this form of teaching – learning process, to be able to provide the best medical care to the needy with state of the art technology , and to bring forth hypothesis based , community oriented, high impact research which would be able to contribute to formulation of National medical management guidelines in all activities related to medical care. To become a name to reckon with in the field of Medical care and Medical education in India.

Mission

To carry forward and consolidate the gains of Evidence based education system by implementing the revised evidence based curriculum in all it’s dimensions in all the constituent colleges, thereby giving further impetus to adult learning, enhanced learner participation, patient satisfaction, continuous high quality research and development of more managements protocols suitable to local problems, and in doing so create a new paradigm in medical care and education
