Today we are celebrating the 146th Birth day of our Nation’s father Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Every year on October 2 we celebrate Gandhi Jayanti as a tribute to our legendary leader. Gandhiji was also popularly called as Mahatma and Bapuji . He was a great Indian freedom fighter who played an important role in getting independence and with his continuous efforts we got independence in 1947.

Gandhiji was the man of simple living and high thinking who is always known for his truth and peace. He is the only person to be accepted by all people universally that’s why on June 2007 the United Nations General Assembly announced his birth date as the International Day of Non-Violence. He was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbunder, Gujarat.

He has great love for his mother land and that made him to spend his whole life in struggling for freedom of India. The purpose behind celebrating Gandhi Jayanti is to let our young generations to know about Gandhiji and the struggles he faced for getting freedom.

He performed great deeds all through his life and is a perfect example for the young generations. He occupies a great place in everyone’s heart and his teachings are always us.
