About Institution

Since 1988, Virginia International Gymnastics Schools has been providing a top-quality, progressive, fitness and motor development program based on gymnastics, for thousands of children in our community. Owners Jim and Mary Roe created VIGS to be an environment where children could learn gymnastics in a safe, fun, well-rounded, wholesome manner. Children can participate in fun-filled classes in gymnastics of all levels. Parents with toddlers can enjoy bonding with their child as they help them grow and develop. Preschoolers and older children can have fun learning to roll, flip, jump, hang, swing, bounce and balance while benefiting from the earliest form of exercise - gymnastics!.For those wishing to follow their hearts to a competitive gymnastics career, VIGS has offered competition USA Gymnastics teams at every level for twenty-five years. Our teams have been successful at every level, not measured just by our many State, Regional and National Champions, but also by the character of the fine young women and men who have graduated to become great role models for those who follow!For Day Care Centers wishing to offer their children a healthy and fun fitness activity, VIGS has long provided specialized classes tailored just to their needs! One of the most fun things your child can do on their birthday is to have it here at VIGS! We offer a combination of gymnastics, games, foam pit fun, trampolines and inflatables that can't be beat! Our instructors are chosen for their professionalism, ability and personality. You may even accuse them of having as much fun as the students! And because the safety of each child in our program is paramount, our instructors are Safety, First Aid and CPR certified!Designed and built by the owners, our current facility opened in January 2008 as we experienced continued growth and success. It is the largest "built for gymnastics" facility of its kind in central Virginia with 26,600 square feet of state-of-the-art gymnastics and cheerleading equipment in the Oak Lake Business Park in Chesterfield County!
