Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, the name used from 2003. VYASA is a Charitable Society, registered in 1986 in Nagarcoil, Tamilnadu as Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana. Earlier it was called as Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandana Samsthana (S-VYASA) from 2000- 2003. From 1986 to 2000 it was called Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VK YOGAS). Before that, it was Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Cikitsa Tatha Anusandhana Samiti (VK YOCTAS from 1981 to 1986). VYASA is the mother organization of S-VYASA, Deemed University. VYASA has its Office for communication in Ekanath Bhavan and Residential Campus – Prashanti Kutiram, 35 kms from Bangalore center.
