Founded in 2001 by Saraswati Devi Shikshan Samiti, it is the oldest private college in Chhatarpur. It is affiliated to Dr. Hari Singh Gaur University, Sagar (Formerly University of Saugar) .

College began with just 12 student and three teachers . From 2001 to 2014 it has growned up having near about 1200 students and experienced staff members team. The Student of Saraswati College has maintain the quality of education which resulted the well qualified students getting the positions in the merit of university. Also the students getting various high profile jobs in various private and public sectors as well as in govt. sector.
