K.B. JHA COLLEGE, KATIHAR was established in the year 1976 and was affiliated to the Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga. This College was declared as constituent unit in 1986. Since the inception of Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University, Madhepura in 1992. It is under B.N.M. University, Madhepura. The college was named after Late Krishna Ballabh Jha, an ordinary businessman of this town who generously agreed to transfer the position of the land to the college where it exists.
Today, K.B. Jha College, Katihar has made a long stride. Having a sprawling campus with a total built up area of 79000 sq. ft, the college runs full time courses up to Under Graduate level in different subjects of Arts, Science and Commerce. Moreover, in keeping pace with time, job-oriented self-financing Degree courses-BBA & BCA were also introduced a few years back & have been running successfully since then. K.B. Jha College also provides Learning through Distance Mode as we have the Study Centre of The Nalanda Open University, Patna since 2010
