Guru Nanak Mt. Hr. Sec. School is a Co-Educational institution and has been affiliated to State Board of secondary Education. The school at Velachery has classes from Pre. K.G. to XII Std. They are handled by highly qualified staff, and personalized attention to the students is the hall mark of the Institution. The school has been producing 96% result in X and XII std Board examination since its inception.

The foundation stone of Guru Nanak Mat. Hr. Sec. School was laid by Padmashri P.N. Dhawan B.A, the General Secretary. Guru Educational Society was formed on Saturday 7th April 1984. It was presided by TMT. T.S. Sarojini Varadappan, Sheriff of Madras.

The school building was declared on Saturday, 28th July, 1985. It was presided by H.E. Thiru S.L. Khurana, Governor of Tamilnadu. The school became a full fledged Mat. Hr. Sec. School in the year 1979 with a balance of academic excellence, concern for the child and a strong value system with the blessing of Guru Nanakji. Under the excellent guidance of our School President Mr. Sardar Manjit Singh Gill, the General Secretary and Correspondent Mr. Sardar Manjit Singh Nayar, Principal Mrs. S. Bhuvaneswari, Vice Principal Mr. K. Selvarajan , Vice Principal Rajendran the school has established a great reputation.

The unique feature of Guru Nanak Mat. Hr. Sec. School is that it symbolizes the ideas of education expressed through moral and spiritual values, discipline and character, genuine devotion to god, respect to guru, parents and elders.
