About Institution

Government Degree College was established in March,1988 and since its inception it has helped in imparting education to our youth serving in and outside state in various capacities.It has continuously been in the process of development and is now able to cater to the varied educational needs of the student community of this area.The college spread over 67 kanals of land comprises of Arts block,Administrative block,twelve pre-fabricated huts,Canteen,Indoor Badminton Court,etc Moreover newly constructed Science block has also come up which houses four science departments with well equipped laboratories,library,gymnasium and a computer lab. Moreover the construction work on a independent library block,eight class room block and an auditorium has already been started.
Presently the college provide admission in more than 146 combinations comprising of eighteen subjects. Besides this,the college is facilitating off campus education through distance mode in collaboration with IGNOU, MANUU and the Dept.of Distance Education , University of Kashmir.The college stands recognized by the UGC , under sections 2(f) and 12(b) in the year 2005 and is affiliated with University of Kashmir, Hazratbal Srinagar.
