About Institution

Gandhi institute of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 1997, with a motto of providing quality engineering education in a highly disciplined environment with international standards, along with character building of students who will be able to stand up to the challenges of the present employment market.
State-of-the-art laboratories, consequently drawn appreciation from the University, AICTE, as well as the State Government. It boasts of a highly educated, experienced and dedicated team of professors and lecturers. All these are accentuated by excellent performance of the students in the university examinations. It is also a matter of great pride that the top positions in the university have been consistently bagged by the students of GIET. Out of best ten, GIETians secured 6 positions during 2001, 2002 & 2006, 4 during 2003, 5 during 2004 and 8 during 2005 in final Berhampur University examinations. The tradition continues in BPUT examinations too.
Its endeavour to impart quality education has earned accreditation from NBA (AICTE, New Delhi). In a step further ahead, it became the only college in Eastern India and second in India to acquire 3.20 CGPA out of 4 point grade system by NAAC (UGC) for its international standard of education. It provides 11 B.Tech & 9 M.Tech. programmes. It has also got approval from AICTE for admission of foreign nationals and PIO's.
GIET is a pioneering Institution of Higher Education in India and has now been under consideration for the status of the University with Potential for Excellence by the UGC. The portal of this great temple of learning has welcomed intellectual, cultural and social giants from the length and breadth of the Country who left indelible footprints on the sands of time making GIET a proud alma-mater
