‘World Literacy Day’ was celebrated by students of Grades 11 and 12 ISC on September 8, 2016 (Thursday). The celebrations included a speech highlighting on its importance, interesting and informative facts on literacy and , a skit enacted by students to bring about awareness on the importance of being literate, a video filmed by students to show how learning helps to uplift not only the individuals but also the economic condition of a country. The students displayed the colourful charts with slogans written. Students came up with the thoughtful idea to collect old story books and unused notebooks from the school students as well as teachers and donate them to underprivileged school students. Principal Mrs. Meenakshi Ramesh, congratulated the students for their wonderful contribution in making the event a successful one and expressed her wish to see everyone take up the initiative and participate in such events.
