About Vivekananda Educational Trust :

Vivekananda Educational Trust is a registered, non-profit service organization for Man-making education as propounded by Swami Vivekananda.

The Trust is a sister organization of the Vivekananda Educational Society founded in the year 1972 which is running a chain of several schools in the city of Chennai and its suburbs catering to more than 20,000 students following the CBSE Syllabus.

Vivekananda Educational Trust is registered in the year 1991 as an offshoot of VES and started 5 schools in the very needy rural areas like Thiruninravur, Minjur, Periasekkadu-MMC, Mudichur and Vallur. These schools are following the State Board (Samaseer) syllabus so that the students from these areas hailing from the middle and lower middle class families can have a good academic career.

Both the Society and the Trust are having the roots form the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra of Kanyakumari.

At present in the 5 schools run by the Trust, more than 4200 students are studying. While the school at Vallur is being taken care by the NCTPS (North Chennai Thermal Power Station) with regard to land and buildings, for all the other 4 schools, kind-herated philanthropists have donated more than Rs.10 lakhs and adopted the schools.

We, the Trustees, Members of the School Development Committees, Staff, Students and Parents salute these kind hearted people for their noble gesture and munificient donations. We also thank and acknowledge with gratitude the various other donors whose contirubutions have helped us to a great extent. We pray the Almighty to shower HIS blessings for their continued prosperity.

To build the school into a fine, desirable model institution in the state - one that propagates and perpetuates good culture & integrated, whole-some education. To provide meaningful education for students to enable them to enter life with confidence, hope and courage. To build and permeate in studetns, virtues of integrity, devotion to duty, respect for elders, sympathy for those in distress, respect for traditional and cherised values, patriotism and appreciation for things in good taste. To tap, stimulate, promote, encourage and optimize talents of students in variouis areas including sports, music, dance, bhajans, debating and fine arts of all kinds & description. To inculcate and encourage established concepts and practices of our country's culture & tradtion. To integrate education with economy, to supplement academic education with useful elements that equip students with adequate training meant for useful employment opportunities. To build leadership qualities, initiative & drive and an on-going quest for knowledge enhancement. To improve teaching skills on an ongoing basis. To get support of parents and rapport with parents.
