About Institution

Parama Poojya Shri Hurakadli Ajja, the doyen of spiritual world and philanthropist established this educational institution "The Temple of Knowledge" to cater to the needs of girls from economically and socially poor background. Shri Hurakadli Ajja was a great saint and a worshipper of Goddess 'Bagalamba'. He was a teacher by avocation and had an ardent desire to establish an educational institution exclusively for women, who were in his esteemed view nothing but incarnation of Goddess Gouri. His sacred wish became a reality and the result was an establishment of Shri Hurakadli Ajja Shikshana Samiti in 1983. Shri Hurakadli Ajja had a great number of disciples in all walks of life. Out of the generous donations of Poojya Ajja's disciples this women's college established in the name of Smt. Kallavva Shivapanna Jigalur Women's College in the year 1986 and it is renamed as Smt. K.S.Jigalur Arts and Dr.(Smt.)S.M.Sheshgiri Commerce College for women from 1999.
