Swadeshi Enterprise In Bengal 1921-47

This book is D.Litt. thesis and a to the Ph.D work on Swadeshi Enterprises in Bengal 1900-20 by the author. In this work, he has expanded the subject by including Paper, Match, Iron foundries and Machine-makers, Ayurvedic medicine, Waterproof, Lamp, Pen, Pencil etc. More importantly, he has dealt with the debate on the nature of Swadeshi technology. A very interesting chapter is on Swadeshi through advertisements, which gives a glimpse of Swadeshi and contemporary Bengali society. A new addition is the history of the P.R.Bagchi & Co. which is his own discovery through research. The list of patents is also a very significant addition.
