Pushpesh Pant is a noted Indian academic, food critic and historian. He retired as a Professor of International relations from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He is one of India's leading experts on International Relations as well as Indian cuisine, and as a columnist has written for a number of major publications like Forbes, Open, Outlook, Times of India and The Tribune. He was awarded with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India by Government of India in 2016. Pushpesh Pant was born in 1947 in Bageshwar, Uttrakhand. Professor Pant is an exceptionally intelligent, strongly motivated, hard working scholar with very pleasant manners. He stayed in Agra and Delhi during 1961 – 1971 for his education. Professor Pushpesh K. Pant He retired as Professor of International relations from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.

Professor Pant has traveled vastly and has written on tourism. He has almost dozen books to his account on various topics. He is known as a regular on food and travel related articles and has written and appeared in different TV shows related with food and travel. Professor Pant has been associated with media with hundreds of radio and television shows. Professor Pant is currently working for providing opportunities for formal and non-formal education especially for countinuing the education of school dropouts and women. He is, at present, associated with programmes for education through Janshikshan Sansthan of Birla Institute of Scientific Research at Bhimtal, District Nainital in Uttaranchal. Prof. Pant is also looking after the projects related with mobile hospitals and Research Centers in Uttaranchal wich is programme in combination of the department of Scince and Technology and Government of India and the Government of Uttaranchal.
