Al-Sarwat Convent Sr. Sec. School is a private co-educational day school, incepted in 1995, aiming at providing quality education of global standards in a disciplined and intellectually stimulating environment. It was the brain child of Mr Ghulam Hassan Inquilabi; a well known social activist and a veteran Educationist of the valley who had a long desire to establish an educational Institute where quality education is imparted to all, irrespective of any discrimination. This Institute flourished under his able guidance. Besides academic excellence and intellectual development, the school helps each child to discover and develop one's innate talents and abilities. Excellence pervades all aspects of its work. Students flourish in a climate that ensures that they achieve their very best; academically and personally.Key to the success of the school, and threaded through its fabric, is the focus on encouraging the students to achieve both academic and personal excellence. This is evident at all levels. The standards reached by students in external tests and examinations are exceptionally high, and are steadily improving over time. The proportion of students gaining positions and distinctions in the Board examinations has been rising steadily in recent years and remain exceptionally high in English, science and mathematics. Students, irrespective of ethnicity or background, make excellent progress and their all-round achievements are outstanding. This is because the school's ethos motivates students to perform to the best of their ability and makes them thirsty to learn.Al -Sarwat enjoys an attractive setting in main Anantnag town with a huge campus on the edge of the green belt, which is an attractive setting for learning. School has most of its classrooms now been fitted with electronic whiteboards and projectors.
The School is ideally located on Khannabal-Phahalgam road close to centuries old famous Sun temple of Martand. Excellent public and private transport links provide easy access to the School.
