About Institution

Adarsh College of Education, which has the proud distinction of being the prominent B. Ed. College in the private sector in Jammu province, was established in the year 2000, under the banner of ADARSH EDUCATIONAL TRUST (AET), a Non-Governmental Organization devoted to the promotion of quality education.
Sh. A. K. Kapoor recipient of Best Citizen of India Award ha pledged to impart quality education to the backward, downtrodden and socially weaker section of the Society, bailing from backward area, who were generally denied of Educational opportunities.
In order to accomplish such a cherished goal, a humble beginning was made by virtue of forming a primary School named as ADARSH SHIKSHA NIKETAN SCHOOL was opened at Resham Ghar Colony in the year 1969. Ever since that day Sh. A. K. Kapoor didn’t look back and the trust grew in strength, day-by-day, year after year, with the untiring efforts of Sh. A. K. Kapoor and Mrs. P. B. Kapoor, an eminent Educationist in general, hand in glove with her husband, day in and day out to raise the stature of BAL SHISHU NIKETAN, Resham Ghar, as initially known, to the present stature of one of the best higher secondary schools of the Jammu Division
The Trust didn’t stop there. With the sole motto of up-lifting the Educational standard of the students of backward classes especially in the remote areas, another Institution was established at CHANNI HIMMAT under the umbrella of ADARSH EDUCATIONAL TRUST
After establishments of these two institutions, one more feather was added to the cap of Sh. A. K. Kapoor (Chairman) by establishing ADARSH COLLEGE OF EDUCATION at Tarore in the year 2000.
The foundation stone of the college complex was laid by the then Hon’ble Minster of Education, Jenab Mohd. Shafi Uri and Hon’ble Minister for Revenue Jenab Abdul Qayoom Sahib on 23rd of Feb, 2000. The inauguration of College Complex was made by the then Hon’ble Chief Minster Jenab Dr. Farooq Abdullah. In his inaugural speech, Jenab Dr. Farooq Abdullah lauded the untiring efforts of Sh. A. K. Kapoorand also put on record the services rendered by Smt. P. B. Kapoor in helping her husband to achieve the desired goal.
The college stands recognized by the J&K Govt. and is affiliated to the University of Jammu. Adarsh College of Education emphasizes pursuit of high ideals namely excellence in teaching and learning, high achievement levels, all round development of personality, creativity, innovation and introduction of new technologies besides ensuring professional growth of teachers.
