The West Point Community Schools Educational Partnerships, New York has been recognized as the recipient of the 2013 Exemplary Partnership Award. This is one of four awarded this year by the LTG (Ret) H.G. “Pete” Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award™ by the Military Child Education Coalition® (MCEC®). This annual award encourages and applauds the outstanding partnerships formed between military installations and school districts that serve military children. The Pete Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award™ was created in 2004 to recognize the work of former MCEC Chairman Lieutenant General (Ret.) Pete Taylor in assisting the highly mobile military child. Goal 1: By June 2015, the students at West Point Middle School will increase their reading comprehension in the area of text analysis and evaluating and extending meaning across the curriculum as measured by the selected system-wide and local assessments.
