About Institution

St.joseph's college Pilathara is affiliated to Kannur University. The college is managed by the Diocese of Kannur under the patronage of Rt.Rev.Dr.Alex Vadakkumthala, Bishop of Kannur. The college strives to reach the benefits of higher education to people of north Malabar who are comparatively backward in education pursuits. North Malabar consisting mainly of the districts of Kannur and kasargod has and comparatively only lesser institutions of higher education. The Diocese of Kannur bifurcated from the Diocese of Calicut in 1999, has been serving the people of Malabar though a network of schools, wanted to contribute its services in higher education too. The college which began in 2005 has eight courses now including two post graduate courses.
