St. Joseph’s School (Primary Section) is a Catholic Christian school belonging to the Catholic Diocese of Gorakhpur. It was founded on 15th July 1974 in the St. Joseph’s Church Cathedral premises. It is run by the Catholic Diocese of Gorakhpur Education Society. With the erection of the Catholic Diocese of Gorakhpur in 1984 by His Holiness pope John Paul II of venerable memory, the ecclesial units of Gorakhpur-Basti Mandal were bifurcated from the Catholic Diocese of Varanasi.
