St. Anthony’s Junior College, Agra, was established in the year 1845 by the Sisters of the congregation of Jesus & Mary, which is only for girls.
The school bears the testimony of being not only excellent in academics but also in co-curricular activities along with imbibing the values which our Mother Foundress St. Claudine Thevenet expected in girls to have.
Anthonians have proved, now and then, their mettle by claiming the coveted rank of National Topper in I.S.C. and also making a mark in shooting at National and International level. Our school has even excelled in basketball with many emerging National Players.
We, the sisters of the Congregation of Jesus and Mary serving the cause of education in India since 1842, commit ourselves to the promotion of a more just and humane society in our country. The inspiration provided by our foundress, Claudine Thevenet, since 1818, continues to strengthen this commitment.
In the India of today the pressure of casteism, communalism, poverty and exploitative structures make it imperative to equip our students not only with intellectual skills but also with a set of attitudes imbued with social, moral and spiritual values.
Our commitment to this kind of education is made in order to Serve specifically the young and among them the poor. We will also seek to conscientize them of their rights and struggles in the face of the ongoing oppression and exploitation of women.
We invite our collaborators, students and parents to work with us in realizing our challenging vision of bringing about a new India
