The SMSMPITR has been open to provide engineering education in rular students.The institute runs under Shankarrao Mohite Patil Charitable Hospital Trust.The institute is situated in the heart of city and it is just 1km away from local ST bus depot.
The institute is sister concern of Sahakar Maharshi Shankarrao Mohite Patil sahkari sakhar karkhana ltd.Akluj, which is largest sugar industry of Maharashtra.
The industry has 10000 TPD sugar crushing capacity and has 33 MW cogeneration plant.The institute has well equiped laboratories and regularly arrange industry visit for students to expatiate their practical knowledge
The institute takes due care of students academic and has created well qualified faculty from IIT,NIT etc.
