About Institution

The S.L.U. Arts and H. & P. Thakore Commerce College for Women is a prominent reputed college for women run by Gujarat Stree Kelavani Mandal. It was founded in 1920 with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhiji. At present this college is a two faculty UG College affiliated to the Gujarat University catering to girls from diverse backgrounds. The college offers BA and B.Com degrees and added courses in a variety of subjects of Arts, Home Science and Commerce stream with an intake of 1300 students every year. The college retains a rich tradition of nurturing the growth and development of the girls by providing the right kind of environment and training to prepare them for the contemporary world. Over and above the teaching work through expert and experienced faculty, the college also gives importance to cultural activities, sports, N.C.C. and N.S.S. The college takes special and personal care for the all round development of the students, thereby providing them with access to modern education related to the changing scenario of the world. Along with this, computer courses, I.T. and U.G.C. recognized career oriented courses are also offered.
