About Institution

Rehmat-e-Alam Institute of Education was established in 1995 to address the rapidly increasing demand for teacher Education. The Institution is committed to provide an intellectually stimulating environment for productive learning and instructional programmes and to keep with nationally recognized standards of academic excellence. The Institution has been assessed and Accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC Banglore which is a statuary body of University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2009.
Rehmat-e-Alam Institute of Education is a trust and registered as a society for establishing an educational institution on modern lines. The establishment of the Institute was approved by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir and the affiliation was granted by the University of Kashmir in the year 1995.
The Institution is situated at Rehmatabad, Anchidora Anaritnag on KhanabalPehalgam Road (K.P. Road) about 02 Kms from Anantnag City and 58 Kms from the University of Kashmir, Hazaritbal Srinagar.
The Institution is spread over a campus of 23 Kanals of land flanked by river " Lidder" and situated amidst delightful natural surroundings. The Institution provides the right kind of atmosphere for serious study. Since its inception, it has been developing with a reasonably fast pace with all its major units having come up over the years.
Presently, the Institution offers Bachelor of Education ( B.Ed.) Course since 1995. The output in terms of examination results have been outstanding throughout and the increase in the intake capacity from 130 to 445, are the indications of its growth and development. Other courses viz, Master of Education ( M.Ed.) , Bachelor of Computer Application ( BCA), Elementary Teacher Training programme (ETT) etc. are likely to start from the next session with full vigour. The college has the progarmme to establish a degree college with B.Sc (Medical and Non-Medical) and B.Com courses for which the permission from the Govt. has been sought.
