The X-GMAT entrance test is being conducted by the Xavier University of Bhubaneswar (XUB) and Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB), one of the Schools under XUB. XIMB is considered to be one of the top 3 Business Schools in Eastern India, along with IIM Calcutta and XLRI Jamshedpur and has consistently been ranked as one of the best Management Institutes of India, ranked between 2 to 13 by the top 10 B-School ranking surveys of the country. The average CTC offered in year 2015 has been INR 12.65 Lacs for BM and INR 11.39 Lacs for HRM while the highest CTC offered was INR 20.50 Lacs and highest International being 34,733 USD.

The last date for applying on-line is Dec 7, 2015 and the on-line test is scheduled on January 10, 2016. The test is conducted for admissions into Master’s programs offered in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Rural Management, Management program for Executives and integrated PhD programs for the year 2016.

The online X-GMAT test is of 120 minutes duration. The test will consist of five sections namely quantitative ability (QA), data interpretation (DI), comprehension & logical reasoning (CLR), emotional quotient (EQ) and general knowledge & current affairs (GKC). The type and nature of questions will be similar to the other prominent entrance tests for management education. The medium of the test is in English language for all candidates.

The sections during the test will appear in random sequence and there will be sectional time limits, which means a candidate will not know the next section and has to complete a section in a given time. If a candidate finishes any section early, (s)he has to wait for the next section to begin. For attempting X-GMAT the candidate should have three-year Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in any discipline and the marks scored in graduation should be at least 55 %.  Candidates who expect to complete the final part of their degree examinations by June 15, 2016, can also apply.

Scores / percentiles in X-GMAT (or CAT, XAT, GMAT also accepted by XUB) is one of the component in the overall selection process for the programs of XUB. The broad based selection process takes into account the academic performance, relevant work experience, writing ability and performance during personal interview.
