Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, established in the year 2007,was granted approval by the DENTAL COUNCIL OF INDIA and sanctioned by the GOVERNMENT OF INDIA with fifty-intake capacity. It is affiliated to MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY, Kottayam and 2010 onwards affiliated to KERALA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH AND ALLIED SCIENCES, approved by Hon: GOVERMENT OF KERALA.

The college is managed by Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust.The college is located at INDIRA NAGAR, east of Nellikuzhi town, and is situated just three Kilometers away from the west sideof Kothamangalam municipality. It is on Kothamangalam-Perumbavoor route along the Aluva - Munnar Highway.
