Hagia Sophia Public School is Situated on the Kochi-Madurai National Highway in Mattakuzy, in a serene and picturesque campus away from the hustle-bustle of the city. Mattakuzy is close to Puthencruz, 16 km away from Kochi and 20 km away from Muvattupuzha. The foundation stone of the school was laid by H.G. Dr. Thomas Mor Athanius on 3rd September 2004. The school started functioning on June 6, 2005 with Kindergarten sections and class I in its 7 acres of land. We have grown tremendously in this short span of 8 years and have at present around 650 students, 47 teachers and 30 non-teaching staff. The school has been upgraded to senior secondary from 2013 and we are now fully equipped to take care of the diverse needs of our students from the nursery level to the senior secondary level.
