About Institution

Founded in the sacred memory of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji,on the occasion of His 500th birth anniversary, celebratedin November 1969, the Fifth Centenary School was started.To manage the affairs of the institution, it was decided toform the Fifth Centenary School Society, which wasregistered under the Indian Societies Registration Act, inJune 1970. The Society decided to acquire Vincent Hill. Thesociety acquired the Shangri-la estate in March 1977,which houses the Girls School and the Junior section (boysup to Class III).
GNFCS Aims Come in to learn, Go out to serve. GURU NANAK FIFTH CENTENARY SCHOOL is an ISO 9001:2008 certified English medium, residential School, run on Public School lines. School is affiliated to the Council, for the Indian School Certificate Examinations,New Delhi.
The School imparts education, along most modern linesto boys and girls, from KG to ISC (Class XII) in Arts, Commerce and Science streams. As an educational institution, we are there to produce humans, not only with fully developed intellects, but with all the universal & eternal moral values, ingrained & developed to make them a source of happiness & fulfillment, for themselves & their environment. - Eternal values preached, propagated and embodied by our Gurus & Saints are transmitted to the students to form their own personal code of behavior, to help them live a happy & fulfilled life. Although, the idiom is Sikh culture, yet, the values are universal.


School Campus

The school has students from Kindergarten to Class XII in two self contained areas within close proximity of each other, The Vincent Hill for boys and Shangri-La for the girls. Shangri-La, situated at 6,750 feet above sea level is on an 11 acre plot, wooded with cypress, cedar and oak, on the south and west, and facing the snow clad Himalayan peaks, to the north. It is at a distance of about 2 Kilometers from Library Point.
