IIT aimed to held the entrance test in Eight countries like Singapore, UAE, and SAARC countries like Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka Bangladesh. It is to strengthen and promote the IIT brand outside India, the Indian Institutes of technology are deliberating to hold the entrance tests in foreign countries for the first time. Because till now entrance tests for IITs were held in India, from now to attract the International talents for UG and PG programs IIT took the best decision. It is aimed that the plan would be operationalised from the JEE/GATE exams to be conducted in 2017," a senior HRD Ministry official told PTI.
