Damber Singh College was established in 1994 with due permission from the government of Sikkim vide Notification No.356/Est./Edn, and with the affiliation from north Bengal university, West Bengal. Later with the establishment of Sikkim University in 2007 vide Parliamentary Act the college is automatically affiliated with it from 2008-09 academic sessions. College is named after a social reformer Late D. S. Chhetri and located in a most ambient location at Gangtok, the capital city of the most green and peaceful State of Sikkim.
