What is IELTS and TOEFL?
 

Students having the desire to fly abroad for their studies has the necessity to know about these two tests. 

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) are the English language tests that need to be cleared by international students from other countries where English is not native language to prove their English proficiency and to enroll themselves in English speaking Universities and academic/professional institutions across the globe.

IELTS:-

IELTS is mostly preferred in the countries like UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. It is approved by the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). It tests the listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in English language. Academic reading and writing sections along with general listening and speaking sections comes under the IELTS academic option which will give you a real-world feel. British and Australian accents and vocabulary are included in its listening section.

If you are comfortable having a detailed interview in-person, have legible English handwriting, have the ability to understand a variety of dialects of English, prefer tests with many question types and feel comfortable discussing non-academic topics in English then you are capable of taking IELTS test.

TOEFL:-

TOEFL is required to study in US, Canadian and European Universities, institutions and colleges. Educational Testing Service (ETS) designs and administers the test. Your English listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in academic tasks are measured. American accents and vocabulary are included in its listening section.

If you are comfortable with computers & speaking with extemporaneously into a microphone, like multiple choice questions, good at typing, capable of following lecture from a record & take notes instantly, prefer American English/accents, have the ability to concentrate for long period of time then your can take up TOEFL test.

Preparing yourself for the both the examinations are important to carry out study in foreign countries. There are many coaching centres available to learn for these tests. Choose the best language school and prepare for the same.
