Tips on how to study Mathematics

Math, make you nervous? Tests make your brain freeze? If yes, There is a help.

Math is used in our daily life and can be used in various ways. It is impossible to study math properly by just reading and listening. We spend a majority of our school years studying and learning the concept of it. Most people tend to say "I hate math!" or "the big one".

This section contains tips on how to better study mathematics and hopefully gets you some good grades.

Strategies to improve mathematics grades in board exams:

Take notes and listen carefully:

While learning a certain concept, write down key points and important things to avoid. When your teacher writes down the examples on the board, copy them as well as how to solve them. By doing this, helps to review later.

Participate in the class lesson:

The key to understanding math is to be an active participant. Math cannot be learnt by watching it being done, by being active you engage well.

Do homework as if you were taking a test:

Make it a habit of doing your homework well. Finish all of your homework and work on more questions.

A teacher is always your best bet for help:

Always ask questions if you are unclear about the concept otherwise you will move on to the next subject without knowing the first one.

Look for connections and patterns:

By getting involved in the problem you get to understand and feel how it can be solved. The answer to all the problems lies within the problem itself. After you have learned a skill it is effective to pass it on. When you teach, you build a connection you made while practising.

Study:

Search for math problems online or run through extra questions in the textbook. Make sure you thoroughly understand how to solve the problem and check your answer. Start studying about a week before, and about 30 minutes to an hour each day. This allows you to do a review the night of the test, rather than relearn concepts you may have forgotten. And this will help you feel confident for your exam.

Teach other folks:

The most effective method is to learn the same skill by teaching. So, look for classmates who are having trouble with the lesson. Give them extra problems and show them how to complete them to lock in your own skills.

Join study groups:

Study groups help in merging ideas and concepts with a group of peers. This helps you to teach and learn from each other. This will help you exercise your ability to learn. After all, you worked hard, enjoy your grades.
