The Ancient Education System in India

The Education system in India mainly focuses on the Discipline, Culture and Knowledge. There are many ancient education systems in India and the famous among them is the Gurukul system of Education.

Gurukulam has existed since the vedic age. Their main motto is to develop the knowledge and they were highly focused on education.

Students were divided into three categories like
(a) Vasu- Those obtaining education up to the age of 24.
(b)  Rudra- Those obtaining education up to the age of 36.
(c)  Aaditya- Those obtaining education up to the age of 48.
The Ancient system of Education had three simple process  known as Shravana, Manana and Nidhyasana.

Shravana  It is the process of listening to the hearings what the teacher says. This knowledge was technically called as Sruti. This is because the pronunciation is of utmost importance. If the pronunciations of the words differ, then the true meaning of the phrase or word will also differ.

Manana  It implies that the student needs to interpret himself the meaning of the lessons imparted  by the teacher so that they may be assimilate fully. This will give a clear analysis on what they hear via Shravana.  This will help to remove any doubts about the knowledge that has been received via shravana.

Nidhyasana means complete comprehension of the truth. A student can get a realization of the hearings and analysis from Shravana and Manana and get in to the realistic via Nidhyasana.

The popular ancient Indian schools are
Nalanda
Thakshasila
 Vikramshila
Vallabhi etc..
Yup, at no doubts the ancient education system is the best education system with its finest values.
