The admission process for the law colleges have begun with CLAT exam around the corner. Over 50000 candidates have registered for CLAT 2017. Preparations are going on rigorously by the students to secure a position in the available 2400 seats. So what do you need to know about this exam and how can you crack it? Nose for solving cases

The common sense and sensibility is tested in the aptitude section where you will be asked questions based on a particular law or case and asked how you could deal it. Of course a candidate might not have in depth knowledge of the subject as a fresh student, but your presence of mind and speed of decision can be assessed through this section. So be familiar with a few popular laws and the knowledge you have gained through case studies in news will lend you a helping hand to secure marks in this section that comprises 40 questions.

Language Skills

Even though if a person is good at the subject and have intensive knowledge of it, without the power of communication he will not succeed in any profession. Especially when it comes to being a lawyer you will have to make innumerable arguments in the court and put across your points clearly lest you will be over powered by the other lawyer.

English language skills has 40 questions. This section tests your grammar, vocabulary and comprehension. A paragraph for comprehension will be given to test your understanding of the concept. It carries 10 marks.

Knowledge of Laws

Candidates are expected to have a basic knowledge of the laws before they get into the actual degree course. If a student is passionate about something, he or she is expected to have some knowledge about it. So there is a section that questions about the popular laws. Some of the topics from which questions will be asked are Law of Torts, Law of Contracts and Criminal law and legal GK. This section has 50 questions.

Maths skills

Here is something that demands your strength theoretically and it is Maths. If you can solve problems in Maths, your probability of solving the problems in cases are high! No kidding, it all boils down to your ability to solve problems and this section to an extent assesses it.

It has 20 questions of elementary mathematics up to 10th standard like percentage, profit and loss, simple interest compound Interest, average & mixture, time and work, and probability.
