Besant Evening College was founded in the year 1976 by a great visionary the late Sri Manel Sinivas Nayak.It is sponsored and managed by the Women’s National Education Society and is proud to carry the illustrious name of Dr.Annie Besant as it reaches out both to the bright and best and also to the less privileged young men and women.Most of our students are those who aspire for higher education simultaneously with their day time careers with the ideal of “learn while you earn.”
Our College is one among the two leading evening colleges in the city of Mangalore and is dedicated to providing good quality higher education to young people who would have been denied an opportunity in the normal course.Since its inception the institution has been striving hard to bring higher education within the reach of all who seek it.with a very reasonable fee structure it is well within the reach of all those who aspire for higher qualification.
The college offers B.A.,B.Com and B.B.M degree programmes and M.Com.post-graduate programme.Started with a student strength of 80,now we provide education on an average to 400 students every year.Besides students who work during the day,these past few years we have students who pursue professional courses such as CA.,ICWAI.,Engineering and Computer diploma and Certificate courses during the day and work towards a degree in our evening college.
