About Institution

Belfast Adult Education is located in Belfast, Maine. Belfast serves as the shire town of Waldo County. It represents one of the anchors of the midcoast region. The program is responsible for providing programming to the citizens of Belfast, Belmont, Frankfort, Morrill, Northport, Searsmont, Searsport, Stockton Springs, Swanville. Many adult learners join the program from outside this geographic region due to the fact that RSU #20 Adult Education does not have a residency requirement.

Belfast Adult Education is the only full time, full service program in Waldo County. serving adults age sixteen and older year round. The administrative offices are open Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 6:30pm. The Learning Center is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 9:00pm and Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Instruction is offered at four different locations including the Learning Center on Waldo Avenue, Belfast Area High School, the University of Maine - Hutchinson Center and Waldo County Corrections Facility. .

Belfast Adult Education is a member of the Maine Adult Education Association and provides programming in the five categories listed below.
