Professor Sir Michael Rawlins is the chair of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency. He took up post formally from 1 December 2014 and his appointment will be for three years. He is also currently Chairman of UK Biobank.He is an Honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, and Emeritus Professor at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.He won Prince Mahidol Award in 2012.
