Vidhwal Khade is an Indain sportsman competing in the game of swimming in 50 m, 100 m and 200 m freestyle swimming events. He represented India in the 2008 summer Olympics held at Bejing but failed to reach semifinals. He won medal in 50 m butterfly catagory at the 2010 Asian games on 16th November 2010 which is the first medal for India in swimming in a period of 24 years. He was born on August 29, 1991 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. His full name is Virdhawal Vikram Khade and his father’s name is Vikram Khade. When he was qualified for Olympics, he became the youngest ever swimmer to qualify from India. Though he could not reach the semifinals in the game, he set his new personal best of 50.07 seconds. He won bronze medal in the 50 meter butterfly event in the 16th Asian Games held at Guangzhou in China. He supports Pratham books and nike brand. The GoSports Foundation supports his sporting excellence. He received Arjuna Awards for his talents in swimming from the Government of India in 2011.
