"Presidency College, Calcutta (now Presidency University) is one of the premier world class academic institutions in India. The diaspora of ex-Presidencians are omnipresent throughout the world and Mumbai is no other exception. It is the love as well as respect for the alma mater, which brings several ex-students of Mumbai to form the “Presidency College (Calcutta) Alumni Association, Mumbai”(PCAAM) in 1992 with a membership of about twenty. Over the years the membership reached almost 400 milestones with a steady growth. We intend to promote exchanges and understanding between two rich cultures, those of Maharashtra and Bengal. We organize Banga Sanskriti Utsav, which has become a quintessential cultural landmark in the heart of Mumbai. Our programmes provide a common forum and a meeting place not only for Presidencians but also for all cultural enthusiasts in the busy city of Mumbai. The organization has organized separate cultural events like Bengali Natyotsav, 150th Birth centenary celebration of Rabindranath Tagore. Apart from organizing cultural festivals, this organization has been arranging various film screenings and popular lectures for Bengalis in Mumbai for the last few years. Arranging picnics and get-togethers for members are also a part of our activities. This organization also engages in various charitable, social and educational activities through different trusts, Government agencies and NGOs. "
