About Carmel Valley Art Association

Established On : 2004

Valley Girls Gallery started in 2004 as the working graphic design studio for Shelley A Aliotti, artist and published author / illustrator of My Pen Pal Scrapbook, an Educational Journey through World Cultures ©1995. Shelley combines her art of choice, Graphic Design and Photography, creating “Digital Paintings” of the travels that feed her soul and area where she was born, lives and loves to always return to.In 2009, Valley Girls Gallery moved and expanded into a new larger space and evolved into a beautiful creative gallery where many local artists would showcase their art. “One day,” Shelley says, “Bill Bates – one of my artists and friend (a beloved Carmel cartoonist) suggested that we form a ‘Carmel Valley’ Art Association. So… we did it! Bill would become one of the founding Directors of the Carmel Valley Art Association® (CVAA).

Today, CVAA, in its third and final ‘corner’ location, is now a vibrant and award-winning gallery with an exciting group of 50 plus talented local artists ~ a hub fostering creativity and the arts in this truly unique area.
Carmel Valley Village is friendly, yet savvy, boasts fine restaurants and wine tasting from one of California’s finest wine-growing regions and hosts a variety of shopping options ~ antiques stores, boutiques, studios and art galleries showcasing this areas most creative artists.

John and Shelley A Aliotti are co-founders of Carmel Valley Art Association® @ Valley Girls Gallery and they were also the co-founders of Pen Pal Kids Club Inc. (PPKC), an interactive ‘edu-tainment’ (learning and fun!) web site for children …“the safe social network for kids around the world” TM. Pen Pal Kids Club was launched in June 2011… not as your average pretend, avatar-based virtual world…but one in which real kids could challenge, learn from and inspire each other. “We always have believed strongly in the importance of providing a safe ‘global playground’ for children across the globe to learn about each other and build worldwide friendships for life. We were awarded the TRUSTe seal of safety.

Carmel Valley Art Association (CVAA) @Valley Girls Gallery is co-owned by John and Shelley A Aliotti (Shelley Designs). They have created a successful model … a juried art association which showcases talented local artisans. The artists rotate into their gallery for three to six month periods; they also work in the gallery once a month to meet and greet the community. We are the ART and the Artists! Artwork includes: fine art – oils, watercolors and acrylics – to mixed media, three dimensional and sculpture, Mosaic and Glass, Photography and Jewelry. Our prints and posters make perfect gifts and we have the largest array of original cards in Carmel Valley.“I am blessed to be surrounded by the beauty that graces the walls of our gallery” say Shelley, “and this incredible creative energy of our amazing artists. It is quite infectious! Come visit us and see for yourself what all the ‘BUZZ’ is about.”
