About Institution

AHSSHI, founded in 1992 offers free education to the hearing impaired children hailing from economically weak and socially distanced section of the society. Currently 162 children from pre-school to higher standard level grow up with knowledge, skills and confidence to be in par with others in our community

Ajay Higher Secondary School for the hearing impaired is one of the very important activity of the Ajay Memorial Foundation. This is the only school for the speech and hearing impaired children in the district of Thiruvallur

The school provides qualitative education by enhancing the language skills
The school provides opportunities for development of inherent creativity in children in the area of arts, science and sports
The school equips parents with special communication capabilities and skills to understand the child's emotional, intellectual and social needs
The school avoids sign language to promote better communication skills
The school teaches strategies with development of audio-visuals / conversation . MRM (Material reflective method) / Micro teaching
The school follows the syllabus prescribed by Government of Tamilnadu
